Unrecognizable Avatars adapted By Actors To Make It

From the long list, there are some movies and characters that are simply unforgettable. There is a list of 10 such movies and characters in which the actors simply became unrecognizable with the help of prosthetics and special effects. There is a huge list of actors in the Indian film industry who have time and again proved their mettle and literally became the character they played. Be it a physical change or a behavioral change, they have impressed us thoroughly. Being an actor demands much more than just good acting. You need to invest a significant amount of time imbibing the character, learning some new skills, language, dialect, culture, attire and if possible even adapting the physique. While changing your body shape is still possible, changing one’s face can be done only to a limited extent. It relies upon the casting to make or break a character and overall, a film.

Amitabh Bachchan, Paa

Released in 2009, Paa tells the story of a 12-year-old Auro, who is raised by his gynecologist mother Vidya. He suffers from a rare genetic disorder called progeria and wants to learn about his father.

PAA... Amitabh to Auro

The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, and Abhishek Bachchan. We have seen actors play a comparatively younger or older person but for a 67-year-old Amitabh Bachchan to play the role of a 12-year-old boy was certainly something nobody ever attempted.

It was not only a commendable performance by Senior Bachchan but his transformation was brilliant too.

  • The film had Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of a child who is suffering from Progeria, a genetic disorder that leads to rapid acceleration of the aging process in children.
  • Amitabh Bachchan received his 5th Filmfare best actor award, Vidya Balan received her first Filmfare best actress award and Arundhati Nag received Filmfare best-supporting actress female for this movie.
  • It took six hours to do the prosthetics for Amitabh Bachchan.
  • In this movie, Vidya Balan played the mother of Auro (Amitabh Bacchan). In real life, she is almost 36 years younger than Amitabh.
  • Abhishek did not want to be a part of the film. It was R Balki who had to convince him for an entire day to agree.
  • Amitabh Bachchan won his 4th National Award for the film, he earlier won for Best Newcomer in Saat Hindustani (1969), Best Actor for Agneepath (1990), Black (2005), and then for Paa (2009).

Kamal Hassan, Chachi 420

In the major throwback picture, Tabu and Kamal Haasan can be seen performing a dance and are beautifully captured doing a similar step. Tabu can be seen donning a bright red saree along with golden borders and a similar blouse. She completed her look with traditional gold jewelry and opted for a middle parting bun hairdo, well-done brows, and bold lips.

Kamal Haasan, who essays the role of Chachi, can be seen wearing a red and maroon-colored saree with a similar blouse. He completed his look with peal jewelry and opted for a bun hairdo, and minimal makeup.

Akshay Kumar, 2.0

The film has been receiving lukewarm responses from critics. However, critics and fans have unanimously appreciated Akshay Kumar's performance. He plays the role of Pakshirajan, an ornithologist and professor who is against the telecom industry.

According to reports, Akshay Kumar's character is inspired by Salim Ali, who is fondly referred to as the Birdman of India. Ali, a renowned ornithologist, and naturalist conducted systematic bird surveys across the country.

In fact, he made ornithology famous by writing several books such as The Book of Indian Birds and Handbook of the Birds of India and Pakistan.

In 2.0, Akshay Kumar's character Pakshirajan is extremely passionate about birds and teaches the importance of ornithology to a group of students. He is often ridiculed by ministers for vehemently opposing the telecom industry.

In the highly anticipated upcoming movie, which is also the most expensive Indian movie ever, Akshay Kumar plays an anti-hero and is reportedly donning more than 12 different avatars. Some of them are due to special effects and some are a product of prosthetics, but all of them are superbly awesome.

Deepika Padukone, Chhapak

Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar has said she wanted to make a statement with her choice of the lead actor in her film on acid attack survivors — Chhapaak. The first trailer of the film landed recently and is winning hearts with the sensitive portrayal of a strong woman. Deepika Padukone, who also turns a producer with the film, stars in the lead role of Malti in the film. The film is loosely based on Delhi’s acid attack survivor, Laxmi Aggarwal.

Deepika Padukone's FIRST LOOK in Chhapaak has left fans stunned with the uncanny semblance with Laxmi Agarwal | PINKVILLA

Talking about the use of prosthetics, the filmmaker added, “During our research, we discovered that Laxmi Agarwal’s pictures before the attack are strikingly similar to Deepika’s when she was young. There is an uncanny similarity in their physicality which shows up in the prosthetics. Deepika Padukone’s 'Chapak' look stunned everyone. She did the role of a victim and it took very long for her look. It was a challenge for a makeup artist to create this desired look of the acid attack girl.

Did you know Deepika Padukone takes 3-4 hours daily to get the prosthetic makeup right for her role in Chhapaak ?

It was a perfect look, and no doubt, Deepika played it well. That was my starting point. Then came the larger thought of the impact of the message which would get magnified with her in the lead as Malti (who is fashioned after Laxmi). The idea wasn’t to make Deepika look like Laxmi but to make her look like what she’d have looked, God forbid if something like this happened to her. The essence of Deepika is still there, particularly in her eyes.”

Aishwarya Rai Bacchhan, Sarabjit

These Pictures of Aishwarya from Sarbjit will Leave you Stunned

Popular make-up artist Subhash Shinde says working on the upcoming biopic “Sarbjit” is a challenging task and that he had to spend a lot of time on research.

The film is based on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and was sentenced to death. He was attacked by inmates at a prison in Lahore in April 2013 and died a few days later.

“‘Sarbjit’ is a very challenging film for me. For ‘Sarbjit’, I had to spend a lot of time on research. I am quite thrilled about this project. Since Aishwarya (Rai Bachchan) is playing Sarabjit’s sister (Dalbir Kaur) in the film, her look will be de-glam… with minimum make-up,” Shinde told IANS.

The film is divided into a vast schedule which includes shooting here from December then moving on to filming in various cities of Punjab like Amritsar, Malerkotla, and Patiala in the month of January and finally the last leg of the schedule will be shot in Delhi in the month of February.

Starring Randeep Hooda as Sarabjit Singh, the film is being directed by Omung Kumar.

Film Review: Sarbjit

Producer Sandeep Singh reveals that Aishwarya gave them several inputs for the film. “She spoke to Dalbir on the phone and even met her a few times. Aishwarya has gone all out for this role. Charanpreet Singh would go to Jalsa for two hours daily to tutor her in Punjabi diction. They would be accompanied by Omung Kumar (director) and the scriptwriter UtkarshniVashist. Every day, they would do script readings while Aishwarya would sit in that same simple salwar-kameez she wears in Sarbjit. She will wear simple clothes in the film, to bring as much realism to the role as possible.”
